I found my delivery on the mailroom shelf, but the divider between boxes had popped loose.
My package was pressed tight against someone else’s, and both labels were buried where the boxes touched.
I tried nudging the divider back with my fingers.
It wobbled, slipped, and left the boxes jammed together again.
So I stood there carefully pulling two packages apart, trying not to look like I was messing with someone else’s delivery.
I finally found my name on the side of the box and pulled it out.
Before leaving, I left a note asking the staff to fix the divider before the next package disappeared in the same little cardboard traffic jam.
