I was leaving through the side exit after dark when I noticed the exit sign cover hanging loose.
It was not just cracked or crooked.
It was swinging into the walkway every time the door settled shut.
I stopped under it and tried to press the plastic cover back into place with my fingertips.
It shifted, wobbled, and dropped right back down.
The hallway was dim, and standing there poking at an exit sign felt ridiculous, but squeezing past it felt worse.
When the door shut behind me, the cover swung out again into the same spot.
I reported it because one half-asleep person could easily walk right into it.
Until someone fixed it, everyone had to duck around the building’s own exit sign.
